DOCSIS 3.1 recommends return plant conditioning and for good reason. Industry best practices indicate that it is possible to achieve significant reduction in a node’s overall ingress noise levels through the strategic installation of return conditioners in low value taps.
Antronix’ cable equalizer and return path attenuator plug-ins help to improve performance in broadband delivery systems.
For high negative tilt and return noise, the cable equalizer plug-in equalizes signals from 5 MHz to 1200 MHz, while adding attenuation to the return path, allowing cable modems to operate at high output levels and increase overall node SNR.
The return path attenuator plug-in is also engineered to be used in lower value taps and works particularly well where negative signal tilt has been addressed with the use of a mainline equalizer in the hard-line plant.
Utilizing these plug-ins allow lower value taps to operate like higher value taps and improves the system’s carrier to ingress performance.
E-option plug-ins provide signal conditioning in the downstream and upstream to optimize system performance.
E-Option only affects the tap ports and does not impact the through (in/out) loss.
Each of the plug-ins is designed to address challenges like positive/negative signal tilt compensation, High Transmit modem, high/low return path loss and return path ingress and noise reduction.
